Here are our new Friends!
Sorry I couldn't get a clear shot of the queen. She was constantly moving around. I wasn't wearing gloves so I couldn't get close enough for a photo! I haven't been stung ever by any of the honey bees. I wasn't as brave as the hubby-- wearing shorts!! LOL!! The bees were very happy today. It is kinda cool being surrounded by hundreds of flying bees!
Oh man, look forward to the honey. So so sososo delicious.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think you're plenty brave, ahaha. I would run away screaming from a single bee.
We like the natural home filtered honey. Milkweed honey is the best!! I have lots of it on my property(for the butterflies--Store bought stuff has to be pasteurized and it looses its flavor. Most honey comes from anywhere in the world and mix it with honey in your country. It isnt the same!!
DeleteOmg, shorts and no gloves!!! Bees are cool, but like this is kinda scary! XD
ReplyDeleteHoney bees don't want to sting you because once they do they usually die. They bounce off you to give you a warning and this only happens near the hives. Away from the hive you can touch them carefully. They take off anyways because they are busy working. The male drones you can pick up--no stingers--they are big and can spot them. When they are in your hand-- you give it a gentle shake and put it to your ear--the buzz is so cool!
